Caddo Center project moves closer to completion

Thanks to a series of grants from the Arkansas Natural & Cultural Resources Council, Henderson's former dining hall is being transformed into a consolidated center for student services.
The historic home will be managed by the David Goodman family, who will operate it as an inn and event venue.
The Captain Henderson House will be managed by the David Goodman family of Arkadelphia pursuant to a lease agreement with Henderson State University. They will begin taking reservations after August 11.
“Henderson’s singular focus is student success, making college more affordable and developing pathways from kindergarten to college,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson said.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education’s accreditation approval is considered "the gold standard" for nursing programs, said Dr. Shelley Austin, department chair.
Henderson is among only 79 programs in the nation to earn this distinction as an “exemplar” in the new report. It met 100% of the instructional goals across each of the elementary mathematics topic areas.
The plan will be recommended to the Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees at a special meeting May 5.
