HSU/HPER Collegiate Recreation Society Participates in 42nd Annual Shoreline Cleanup

As part of National Public Lands Day and in partnership with Keep Arkansas Beautiful, Arkansas State Parks, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the HSU/HPER Collegiate Recreation Society, (C.R.S.), participated in the 42nd annual Shoreline Cleanup on Saturday, September 26. The mission of the C.R.S. Student Organization is to promote the professional field of Recreation and its focus areas of Natural Resource Management, Leisure Services Management, Sport Management, and Hospitality and Tourism through servant leadership, community engagement, socialization, and professional development. Alumni Profile: V.L. Cox, Class of 1991

My family has been going to Henderson since the early 1930s. My grandfather, Olin (Nunny) Hardman, played Reddie football, and my grandmother, Virginia Louise Pilkington, majored in Education and was salutatorian of her class. Numerous uncles, aunts and cousins also graduated from HSU over the years. It’s a proud family tradition.

Barranco appointed interim choral director

A native Arkansan with 15 years of experience teaching in secondary and post secondary settings, Barranco comes to Henderson from Texas Tech University where he completed his D.M.A. in choral conducting.
