Henderson named ‘Most Affordable College’ in Arkansas

Henderson State University has been named the “Most Affordable College” in Arkansas. The ranking was determined by GOBankingRates, which analyzed “colleges across a variety of factors, including in-state tuition and fees, as well as room and board.” Approximately 95 percent of Henderson students receive grant or scholarship aid, and academic scholarships are available based on high school grade point average.

Henderson graduate teams up with professor to publish paper

Michael Brotherton is conducting research under the direction of Dr. Brett Serviss, a professor in Henderson’s new Natural Sciences program. They recently co-authored a paper entitled “A First Report of Hibiscus mutabilis (Malvaceae) from Arkansas,” which was published in the floristics and taxonomy journal "Phytoneuron."

Dr. Trey Berry appointed chancellor of Henderson State University

Arkansas State University System President Chuck Welch today announced the appointment of Arkadelphia native and longtime higher education administrator Dr. Trey Berry as Henderson State University’s next chancellor, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Eclipse t-shirt design contest underway at HSU

The winning design will be used on t-shirts to be distributed April 8, 2024, when Henderson hosts a special viewing event for the public on campus. The deadline to enter the t-shirt design contest is Nov. 15.

Henderson announces 2023 homecoming royalty candidates

Ten finalists will be announced Oct. 12 during the annual homecoming pep rally. The introduction of the full court, followed by the coronation ceremony, will take place during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 14 when the Reddies host Southern Arkansas University at 2 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.

Business learning community launches new strategic plan

“Our students, before graduating, will be able to say they have completed an internship/mentorship experience, earned at least one industry credential, worked on a consulting-based project, and participated in a global, collaborative team,” said Dr. Nathan Campbell.

Dr. Bob Fisher appointed interim chancellor at Henderson State

Fisher, a Henderson alumnus, most recently served 21 years as president of Belmont University. He also served as dean of Henderson's School of Business for 10 years, and was vice president for academic affairs at Arkansas State University.
