Waivers for Persons Over Age 60

Act 678 of 1975 as amended by Act 525 of 1977 provides that when any person sixty (60) years of age or older is admitted and enrolls as a student at Henderson State University, the university shall waive the general in-state registration (tuition) of each student on a space available basis in existing classes. Students age 60 or older will be required to pay all other applicable fees and charges. Only the in-state tuition fee is waived. Course fees, out-of-state tuition, activity fees, etc. are the responsibility of the student. The waiver applies to both Arkansas resident and non-resident students.

In order to receive the initial waiver, the student must submit the required documentation through their Financial Aid portal found through their MyHenderson student account. A current driver's license or birth certificate are acceptable for age verification.

During the process of applying for the initial waiver, the student should inform the Office of Financial Aid of the number of credit hours he/she will enroll in for the current term.

In order to receive the waiver for subsequent semesters, the student must contact us either in person, by telephone, or by email to inform us of the number of hours he/she will enroll in for that term.
