Types of Aid
Scholarships, grants, student loans and jobs on campus are defined as Financial Aid. Whether the funds come from HSU, the federal or state government or private donors, it is all considered financial aid for your student account.

How to Apply for Financial Aid
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, online at studentaid.gov and include Henderson’s institutional code – 001098 so that we will receive your information. This is your application for federal student aid eligibility which includes pell grant, student loans, and workstudy.
- Before receiving an award of financial assistance from Henderson State University, you must be admitted into a degree program. Submit an application for admission to the university accompanied by an official copy of your high school record.
- Our official means of communication is email. Please check your HSU email often. You may also check the status of your application and financial aid awards by logging into your MyHenderson account.
- Transfer students should forward all official transcripts from previous institutions to Admissions at Henderson State University before any financial aid awards can be processed.
