COVID-19 Operational Plan


  • Facilities management will support enhanced cleaning of university facilities.

  • All buildings on campus will be cleaned with disinfectants approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). All general cleaners have been replaced with EPA-rated virucides. 

  • Cleaning kits will be supplied and continually restocked in classrooms across campus. 

  • Students will assist in sanitizing their individual classroom spaces using supplies from the cleaning kits.

  • To maintain the highest level of personal hygiene, each individual employee should utilize wipes and other sanitizer products provided by facilities management to keep common surfaces (keyboards, phone, computer mice, desktops, reception counters) clean. 

  • In areas such as labs and other shared device areas, students, faculty, and staff should adopt rules to wipe down equipment after individual use to prepare it for the next person.

  • Facilities management will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for cleaning focused on high touch surfaces in offices, classrooms, open areas, and restrooms. 

  • High touch surfaces include tables, copiers, doorknobs, handrails, light switches, toilets, countertops, sinks, handles, faucets, desks, water fountains, phones, touch screens, keyboards, and elevator buttons.
