The mission of the department of HPER is to equip individuals with knowledge, skills, and expertise in health, physical literacy, leisure pursuits, recreational leadership, and the promotion of optimal training principles of human performance and rehabilitation for the service of the community.
The mission of our faculty is to promote academic excellence in preparing industry-ready professionals and to foster scholarly endeavors. Our goal is to produce intellectual well-rounded graduates through rigorous, standard-based, relevant programs while holding ourselves to the highest personal and professional ethical standards.
Our graduates form a diverse and successful group of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Human Performance practitioners. Many of our graduates advance to become K-12 educators, leisure service professionals, advanced performance specialists and providers of preventive and rehabilitation services.
