Henderson State set to host its popular Halloween event Oct. 31
Henderson State University will host its annual Henderson Halloween event Thursday, Oct. 31, on the South Lawn from 5-6:30 p.m.
Student organizations will hand out candy to the hundreds of trick-or-treaters expected to visit the campus for the popular Halloween tradition, which began about 30 years ago.
“There is always excitement and so much community love for this event,” said Julie Lacy, director of student activities and leadership. “Our students, their advisors, student groups, and others, always show up in costumes to decorate their tables and hand out treats to the kids.
“It’s a favorite tradition on campus and a great way for students to provide creative community support.”
Lacy expects a large crowd and urges trick-or-treaters to arrive early because the line usually starts forming along Henderson Street an hour before the public event starts.
With rain in the forecast for next Thursday, the event could be moved inside the Garrison Student Center.
