Alumni Board Spotlight: Halle Mann motivated by hope for Henderson's growth

Halle Mann

Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Halle Mann. I graduated from Henderson in 2022 with a BBA in Marketing and Management. I am from Sparkman. I work for the City of Arkadelphia as the special events manager which I absolutely love. I recently got married to Kyle, have three brothers, two sisters-in-law, a niece and 4 nephews.

How did your education and experiences at Henderson prepare you for your career path?

While at Henderson, I worked for the Reddies football team and I loved being a part of the athletic side, and that’s for sure what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Little did I know event planning was my passion. I have used a lot of information that I learned at Henderson for this job!

What motivates you to serve on the HSU Alumni Advisory Board?

I want to see Henderson State and its alumni support continue to grow and to engage with current students.

What were some of your favorite memories from your time at Henderson?

I enjoyed being apart of BCM, and the intramural sports. I loved going to all the Battle of Ravine and baseball games. My favorite part about homecoming week was the bonfire

How did your college experience shape who you are today?

College taught me how to be responsible and to be independent.

Were there any specific courses or professors that had a significant impact on you?

One of my favorite courses was retailing with Mrs. Leah Hasley, and small business with Dr. Jackson.

What message would you like to send to future Henderson students?

Always ask questions and get out of the dorm room to meet people. Get involved with the school.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation. I want to just snap my fingers and go anywhere.

What is your favorite hobby or activity to unwind after a busy day at work?

In my spare time, I usually go shopping with my grandmother or make t-shirts!! I enjoy watching tv and just relaxing.

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited and why?

It would have to be Costa Maya. It was so pretty and all the things that surrounded us were just amazing.

If you could listen to only one music genre for the rest of your life, what would it be?

My favorite stations are US 97.5 and K-Love.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and how has it influenced your life or career?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received was from one of my professors. They told me no matter what, do what you love.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would they be?

Food, water, and a blanket.
