Henderson announces 2022 homecoming royalty candidates

Homecoming activities at Henderson State University begin Oct. 17 when the student body votes for Henderson’s 2022 homecoming royalty. Fifteen students are nominated for the homecoming court.

Ten finalists will be announced Oct. 20 during the annual homecoming pep rally. The introduction of the full court, followed by the coronation ceremony, will take place during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 22 when the Reddies host Arkansas Tech University at 2 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.

The 2022 homecoming court includes:

Jordan Jones
Jones is a senior marketing major from Glenwood and is sponsored by the Student Government Association. She is the current president of the SGA, a captain of the cheer squad, a Reddie Ambassador, and was 2019-2020 Miss Henderson State University.

Kaitlyn Byrd
Byrd is a sophomore vocal music education major from Malvern and is sponsored by the Student Activities Board. She is a member of SAB, Alpha Sigma Tau, the Showband of Arkansas, choir, and the choir council.

Carson Hicks
Hicks is a senior criminal justice and human service major from LIttle Rock and is sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.. She is a member of the Henderson State cheer squad and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Keyuna Thrower
Thrower is a senior integrated studies major with an emphasis in business from Hot Springs, and is sponsored by the Zeta Phi Beta. She is the vice president of Zeta Phi Beta, a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Black Student Association, and Reddie Media Group and has participated in Reddie to Serve day.

Jastyn Vickers
Vickers is a senior health and physical education major from Conway and is sponsored by Kappa Sigma. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta, played for the Reddie Volleyball team, has volunteered with The Call in Arkadelphia, and is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.


Bennett Grace Wilson
Wilson is a junior elementary education major from Stuttgart and is sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha. She is the social chairman for Alpha Sigma Alpha and an active member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.

Avery Lichty
Lichty is a senior psychology major from Norfork and is sponsored by the Diamond Dolls. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, Psi Chi, and Alpha Chi.

Keasha Owens
Owens is a senior health and human performance major from Amity and is sponsored by Phi Lambda Chi. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, a counselor at Barton Bible Camp, and has participated in the polar plunge for the Arkansas Special Olympics, Henderson Halloween, Heart Start, and Freshman Move-in Day.

Kristin Gilbert
Gilbert is a senior aviation major in the professional pilot track from Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is sponsored by the All-Greek Council. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and Alpha Eta Rho, and has participated in Freshman Move-in Day.

Madison Lamb
Lamb is a senior nursing major from Arkadelphia and is sponsored by the Student Nursing Association. She is a member of the Student Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, and National Nurses Student Association.

Kynli Holder
Holder is a senior English education major from De Kalb, Texas, and is sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta, played for the Reddie Volleyball team, and has participated in Henderson Halloween, making bags for the women’s shelter, writing cards to veterans, and volunteers as a high school coach.

Payton Barefield
Barefield is a senior nursing major from Ola and is sponsored by Alpha Sigma Tau. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau and the Student Nursing Association.

Janae Hartman
Hartman is a senior elementary education major from Little Rock and is sponsored by Kappa Kappa Psi. She is a member of Tau Beta Sigma, the co-captain of the Showband of Arkansas Color Guard, a lifetime Girl Scout, and part of the media ministry at Second Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Timothy Morrow
Morrow is a senior psychology major from Clinton, Mississippi, and is sponsored by NPHC. He is the treasurer of the NPHC board, a member of the Red Wave swim team, the Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi, a small group leader at church, and has participated in the DeGray Lake Triathlon.

Jaynie Ferguson
Ferguson is a sophomore elementary education major from Temple, Texas, and is sponsored by Sigma Tau Gamma. She is a member of the Red Wave swim team, Alpha Xi Delta, and has volunteered with The Call in Arkadelphia.
