Henderson's Carol of Lights program Dec. 2

Henderson State University will present the annual Carol of Lights holiday program on Monday, Dec. 2. The sidewalks of the south lawn will be lined with hundreds of luminaries, creating a beautiful seasonal scene.

A variety of Henderson student ensembles and community groups will present festive music and dance for the holiday season. Arkansas Hall Auditorium will be stylishly decorated for the occasion. Santa Claus will be there early at 5 p.m. to visit with children.

The festivities will begin in the Arkansas Hall Auditorium at 5:45 p.m. with pre-concert performances by Opera Workshop carolers and the HSU Flute Choir

At 6 p.m., herald trumpets will mark the beginning of the program, which includes performances by Henderson’s horn choir, dance company, clarinet choir, Opera Workshop, concert choir, NuFusion jazz ensemble, and Angelic Voices of Christ. The Singing Bears from Central Primary School and the New Edition Honor Choir from Peake Elementary School will also perform.

The program will conclude with Dr. David Thomson reciting “The Night Before Christmas” with children invited to join him on stage.

The program is free and open to the public.
