How to Apply for Summer Housing (including apartment lease extension)
- USE A COMPUTER. This will allow you to complete everything with no headaches!
- Log on to eRezLife using your HSU student email and password.
- Visit Apply for Housing to find more details over eRezLife.
Apartment Lease Extension
- Lease extension:
- Lease extensions are available only to apartment residents.
- Your lease extension will START on May 9, once summer officially begins in the apartments.
- There are no partial lease extensions. You must pay for the entire summer.
- Information about moving, checking out, etc. will be sent as time gets closer and we will update you/keep you posted via your HSU email.
- If you are a CURRENT residence hall student and will be residing in the apartments in fall 2026, you will NOT be able to move into your apartment until fall 2026 move-in day (August 13). Exceptions will be granted for early move-in days for university-related activities, such as athletes or band members who have to return to campus early. Those details will be announced this summer.
- Students in Ridge Pointe and Reddie Villas can opt to move to West Hall (summer housing), but you must move all of your belongings and fully check out of your apartment for the summer.
- Prices for summer are the same as semester prices at the rate of where you reside and will be charged in full in May.
- Reddie Villas ($32 per night):
- May 9 - August 12 (95 nights) - $3,040
- Ridge Pointe one-bedroom/efficiency ($37 per night):
- May 9 - August 12 (95 nights) - $3,515
- Ridge Pointe two-bedroom apartment ($29 per night):
- May 9 - August 12 (95 nights) - $2,755
- Ridge Pointe four-bedroom apartment ($25 per night):
- May 9 - August 12 (95 nights) - $2,375
- Reddie Villas ($32 per night):
- Deadline and cancellations:
- The deadline to apply for lease extension is by April 24. No late applications will be accepted.
- Cancellation for lease extension: If you decide that you need to cancel your lease extension reservation, you MUST cancel by May 1. If you do not cancel by this day you will be charged. We will share the cancellation form with you in April so that we only share it with those who have applied.
Mini-May
- Select this option if you will be here for the Mini-May interim session.
- Dates: May 9 - May 22 (13 nights)
- Any current RESIDENCE HALL student (East/West/Sturgis/Smith/University Place) can apply for Mini-May.
- If you are also going to be here for Summer I, Summer II, or both, be sure to apply for those terms on your Housing Portal and select/indicate that you will be here for Mini-May, as well.
- For Mini-May, you will reside in your CURRENT spring 2026 room until your summer room is ready in West Hall or throughout the duration, if you are not doing Summer I.
- Price for Mini-May:
- The nightly rate will match the student's spring housing rate. Total cost depends on the spring room assignment.
- Example:
- If spring housing rate is $20 per night, then the total cost will be $260.
- If spring housing rate is $21 per night, then the total cost will be $273.
Summer I & Summer II
- Select this option if you will be here for BOTH Summer I AND Summer II.
- Dates: May 24 - July 31
- ANY student (East/West/Sturgis/Smith/University Place) can apply for Summer I & Summer II. You are eligible to apply for Summer I & Summer II if you are a current student, a summer student, and/or an incoming student for fall 2026.
- You will reside in West Hall.
- There are NO single rooms available in summer. You MUST have a roommate, unless you are registered with the Disability Resource Center and their office informs Housing you need an accommodation of an accessible room. In this case, it is your responsibility to work with the DRC and communicate with Housing so we can assign you into a single/accessible room.
- Price for Summer I & Summer II 2026:
- All summer prices will be based on the cost of a double room in West Hall at a daily rate of $21 per day.
- Total price for Summer I & Summer II 2026, if you are checking out and NOT returning until your move-in day for fall 2026: $1,428 (charged in May/the beginning of Summer I)
- You will have the opportunity to reside on campus from July 31 through the official move-in days for fall 2026, as well, and you will be charged $21 per day, accordingly. We will gather that information from you in July. We will move you to your fall assignment when your room is clean and available.
- Remember to select the Mini-May option if you will also need housing during that time period.
Summer I ONLY (without Summer II)
- Select this option if you will be here for ONLY Summer I and not Summer II. Remember you must also indicate if you will be here for Mini-May. If you are going to be here for Summer I and Summer II, please select the option for "Summer I & Summer II."
- Dates: May 24 - June 26
- ANY student (East/West/Sturgis/Smith/University Place) can apply for Summer I. You are eligible to apply for Summer I if you are a current student, a summer student, and/or an incoming student for fall 2026.
- You will reside in West Hall.
- There are NO single rooms available in summer. You MUST have a roommate, unless you are registered with the Disability Resource Center and their office informs Housing you need an accommodation of an accessible room. In this case, it is your responsibility to work with the DRC and communicate with Housing so we can assign you into a single/accessible room.
- Price for Summer I 2026:
- All summer prices will be based on the cost of a double room in West Hall at a daily rate of $21 per day.
- Total price for Summer I 2026, if you are checking out and NOT returning for Summer II: $693 (charged in May)
- Remember to select the Mini-May option if you will also need housing during that time period.
Summer II ONLY (without Summer I)
- Select this option if you will be here for ONLY Summer II and not Summer I. Remember you must also indicate if you will be here for Mini-May. If you are going to be here for Summer I and Summer II, please select the option for "Summer I & Summer II."
- Dates: June 28 - July 31
- ANY student (East/West/Sturgis/Smith/University Place) can apply for Summer II. You are eligible to apply for Summer II if you are a current student, a summer student, and/or an incoming student for fall 2026.
- You will reside in West Hall.
- There are NO single rooms available in summer. You MUST have a roommate, unless you are registered with the Disability Resource Center and their office informs Housing you need an accommodation of an accessible room. August Intersession
- This option is available for students enrolled in courses who need to remain on campus prior to the fall move-in.
- Dates: August 1 - August 14 (13 nights)
- ANY student (East/West/Sturgis/Smith/University Place) can apply for the August Intersession. You are eligible to apply for August Intersession if you are a current student, a summer student, and/or an incoming student for fall 2026.
- You will reside in West Hall.
- There are NO single rooms available in summer. You MUST have a roommate, unless you are registered with the Disability Resource Center and their office informs Housing you need an accommodation of an accessible room. In this case, it is your responsibility to work with the DRC and communicate with Housing so we can assign you into a single/accessible room.
- Price for August Intersession 2026:
- The nightly rate will match the student's fall 2026 housing rate.
- Example:
- If spring housing rate is $20 per night, then the total cost will be $260.
- If spring housing rate is $21 per night, then the total cost will be $273.

Important Notes to Consider
- Meal plans are not required in the summer.
- Meal plans will not be available during Mini-May and Summer I.
- Meal plans during Summer II will be selected as time gets closer.
- Students must be enrolled for each term they remain in housing or receive an exemption, which they will request on their housing application.
- Housing contract: Please read your contract fully when completing your summer application. Note that this is a legally-binding agreement between you and the University and it is important to understand everything concerning canceling housing, policies, procedures, payments, etc. You are responsible for reading and understanding your contract.
- Accommodations: If you need an accommodation, please reach out to the Disability Resource Center prior to your room selection/submitting your summer application, so that we know how to best serve you.
