Credit By Exam (AP, CLEP, DSST & IB)

(Advanced Placement – AP; College Level Examination Pogram – CLEP; DANTES Subject Standardized Tests – DSST; International Baccalaureate – IB)

Henderson State welcomes students who have earned college credit by examination. Exam scores for CLEP, DSST, AP, IB & Straighterline should be submitted directly to the Registrar’s Office in Womack Hall 210B. Credit will only be transcripted after a student earns 15 credits at Henderson State with a “C” grade or better. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the Registrar’s Office and request transcription of credit once 15 hours in residency have been earned. The university does not transcript A-F letter grades for CLEP, DSST, AP, & IB credit. In all cases credit will be transcripted as CR (Credit Earned). Exam scores not meeting minimal standards as determined by the awarding organization will not be transcripted. Henderson State reserves the right to require scores greater than the minimal standards. More information including minimal exam scores can be found on the Registrar’s webpage. HSU will not award credit by examination based on transcripts from two or four year institutions. To receive credit original test transcripts must be submitted. An overall maximum of 30 credits from AP, CLEP, DSST or ID may count toward graduation.

*As of June 2017 Henderson State University no longer accepts Straighterline credit.
