Freshman
A student who has less than 30 semester hours of credit.
Sophomore
A student who has 30 or more semester hours of credit and less than 60 hours.
Junior
A student who has 60 or more semester hours of credit and less than 90 hours.
Senior
A student who has 90 or more semester hours of credit.
Non-Degree Seeking
A student who wishes to take a course simply for the sake of personal knowledge without working toward a degree. These students will be limited to taking one course per academic term/semester. Official transcripts of prior college work are not required for non-degree seeking status, but will be required if the student later decides to be formally admitted to the universitiy. However, before being granted non-degree seeking status all other admission requirements must be met.
High-School Concurrent Enrollment
A student who has not yet graduated from high school but is taking courses on-location at the high school for credit to be transcripted at Henderson State Univeristy (HSU). Participation in concurrent enrollment does not guarantee formal admission to HSU as a college freshman. Courses available for concurrent enrollment are decided upon at the start of each academic year. The Deans of each academic college are responsible for communicating with various high schools about course availability. High school students interested in concurrent enrollment should contact their high school guidance counselor for further information.
High-School Early College Enrollment
