Nursing students have perfect pass rate on exam

Graduates of Henderson State University’s Department of Nursing in the 2015-2016 academic year achieved a 100 percent pass rate on their first time to take the National Council Licensure Examination’s NCLEX-RN exam.

“Henderson State has an excellent and committed team in the Department of Nursing,” said department chair Shelley Austin. “Their dedication to teaching undergraduates and student success has made achieving this milestone possible for our graduates.”

Graduates also achieved a 100 percent employment rate for the past several years.

Past first-time pass rates for Henderson State nursing graduates were:

•           2012 – 100 percent

•           2013 - 85 percent

•           2014 - 100 percent

•           2015 - 88 percent

•           2016 - 100 percent

To ensure more students have the opportunity to learn from Henderson State’s exceptional faculty, the university recently introduced an online registered nurse (RN) to bachelor of science in nursing degree to help area RNs earn their four-year degrees in nursing.

This program can be completed in only one year, and students will engage in practicum projects rather than traditional clinical work.
