Henderson alum receives presidential award

Daniel Moix, a 2002 computer science graduate of Henderson State, has been named Arkansas’s recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching for grades 7-12. Moix will receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation, along with recognition this month in Washington, D.C.

“Danny was an exceptional student while at Henderson and has continued to excel in the discipline as a computer science teacher at both Bryant and, currently, the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts in Hot Springs,” said Jim Harper, computer science coordinator and associate professor at Henderson.
