Emmie Eriksson

Q&A

Please share a little bit about yourself and your major.

My name is Emmie Eriksson, and I am a senior from Malmo, Sweden, majoring in business management. I play for the Henderson’s women's golf team, and this is my second year at Henderson. I studied economics in high school in Sweden and wanted to pursue my golf career in the states to try to go professional after graduation. That is why I chose business management as my major when I started college at Murray State University. I then transferred to Henderson and decided to continue within the business school.

Are you a first-generation college student? If so, how does it feel to be the first in your family to attend college?

I am the first one in my family to attend college, and that is a great privilege to have that opportunity.

What inspired you to major in business?

I have always been interested in business and how the business world works. I am a businesswoman, and I always try to make the best for myself. I have always wanted to start my own business someday.

Why did you choose Henderson to pursue your degree?

The Student Advisory Council has enhanced my college experience by giving me the opportunity to meet other business students and help develop the business program for incoming students.

What advice would you give to incoming students to make the most of their experience at Henderson?

Get to know the professors and ask for help with classes and your career. Take advantage of the networking opportunities and career fairs that they provide.

Is there anything you wish you had known when you first started college?

I wish I had known that the schedules are more flexible and adaptable than expected. Also, the professors are more willing to help and work with you than you think.
