Henderson Theatre to present 'Outside Mullingar'

Henderson State University Theatre will present five performances of Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2, and 4 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.

Outside Mullingar follows the story of Rosemary Muldoon and Tony Reilley, two neighboring farmers in Ireland’s Midland region. Rosemary has always had a crush on Tony – who is too focused on running the farm to notice. When Tony’s father threatens to leave the farm to his nephew in America, Rosemary realizes the wait for her love might actually be forever.

The cast of Outside Mullingar includes Camden Dalie Keech of Conway, Garrett Talley of Nashville, Natalie Gray of Hot Springs, and Savannah Price of Alexander. The play is under the direction of Douglas Gilpin, with costume and makeup design by William Henshaw, and Intimacy Choreography by Lacy Klinger.

Student designers include lighting designer Trey Smith of Texarkana, and stage manager Kirsten Shnaekel of Benton.

The HSU Theatre Box Office in Arkansas Hall is open for advance ticket sales from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $10 for non-students, or free with an HSU Student ID. Tickets may also be purchased online at hsu.edu/onlineticketing. Masks are required.
