Job Description:  The Developer will work with the University’s Student Information System and Web portal to help students, faculty, and staff access and process information.  Most new projects will focus on presenting or collecting information through the Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS) Web portal.  In addition to developing new applications within the JICS environment, this position will also assist with maintaining the Jenzabar PX Student Information System, working with faculty and staff to help improve the flow of information and process daily ticket requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with Business Analyst, supervisor, and client.
  • Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a workflow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
  • Develop testing plans and procedures for clients to test solutions.
  • Implement and/or customize ERP software and scripting languages.
  • Work with team members to create and review documentation on custom development.
  • Assist clients with the implementation of developed solutions; including training, documentation, and troubleshooting.  
  • Develop and maintain detailed written technical specifications for developed solutions.
  • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
  • Maintains historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
  • Create and securely maintain tape backups to address data recovery needs.
