Administrative Specialist II – Office of Development and Alumni

$10.50 per hour
40 hours per week

Henderson State University is seeking applicants for the position of Administrative Specialist II in the Office of Development and Alumni.

The Administrative Specialist’s duties will include:  providing administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, the Director of Alumni Engagement, and the Director of Development. This position will also occasionally provide administrative the Spirit Coordinator and Database Specialist positions.  Administrative support includes appointment setting, office calendar management, and scheduling of travel arrangements. Additionally, the Administrative Specialist will compile and maintain office administrative information and records such as budgets, personal documents, and purchase orders.  This position will be responsible for:  researching material on assigned special projects/reports for use in meetings and reports; reviewing and maintaining incoming office correspondence; assisting with alumni and development events, programs, and activities; and assisting in internal and external online communications. It is expected that the person in this position will maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic at all times.

This position will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.

The Administrative Specialist has frequent contact with employees, alumni, friends, staff, faculty, and students so good internal and external communication skills and a high degree of professionalism are important.

Minimum Qualifications

A successful candidate will have intermediate to advanced level of experience in Microsoft Office applications, operations of basic office equipment and basic bookkeeping skills.

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed.
