Description: The McNair Assistant Director is responsible for the year-round development and execution of program objectives and goals; and the supervision of participants, staff and budget expenditures.  The Assistant Director will be responsible for the submission of the Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education. The Assistant Director must be motivated and goal-oriented, as well as passionate about working with student scholars and their faculty mentors. The McNair Assistant Director reports to the Director of Henderson’s TRiO programs.

In pursuit of this commitment, the successful candidate will possess a master’s degree from an accredited college or university, a doctoral degree is preferred. A minimum of three years’ experience in administration, and/or managing TRIO programs, or related programs that serve disadvantaged individuals. Other qualifications include strong writing, planning and organizational skills; high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information; prioritization to meet deadlines; and the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
