Position:  Open Rank Professor of Business Analytics (Tenure Track) – Fall 2018       

Job Description:  Business Analytics broadly covers the use and analysis of big or high-frequency data sets for business decisions. The successful candidate will teach courses in Business Analytics help in the development of the Business Analytics program; applicants should present evidence of their ability to train students on how organizations manage and extract business intelligence from data. Knowledge of one or more of the following - Python, Microsoft SQL Server, R, and Tableau, is expected. Teaching load, which may include both undergraduate and graduate courses, is three classes per semester and summer teaching/support is available. The School seeks a balanced teacher-scholar with a commitment to excellent teaching and outstanding scholarship. The successful candidate will also be asked to provide academic advising for students, as well as service to the school of business, University, and community.

Qualifications:  Qualified applicants must have an earned doctorate (or be ABD with expected completion by August 2018) in Quantitative Methods, Statistical Analysis, Management Information Systems, Decision Science, Economics or related field from an accredited institution (AACSB preferred). The ideal candidate will have a primary research and teaching interest in Business Analytics, but the preferred candidate will also have a secondary teaching and/or research ability and relevant experience in economics. Required experience or capability include, but in not limited to, big data management in business, data mining for business intelligence, predictive modeling, and econometrics (economic data modeling) for strategic business decisions.

Salary:  Commensurate with qualification and experience.

Department:  The School of Business is accredited by AACSB and employs 20 faculty, who teach more than 500 students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration (with concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems), and Aviation.  The school also offers an MBA program.
