RN to BSN Completion Program Director/Assistant Professor of Nursing

Due to growth in nursing program:

Position:  RN to BSN Completion Program Director/Assistant Professor in Nursing. Twelve-month tenure track appointment.

Job Description:  The role of the position is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives, and ensuring program compliance with state Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) standards as well as maintaining full accreditation through the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). These responsibilities require leadership in both academic and workforce areas and include meeting student retention goals; directing and participating in educational planning; program organization; staffing, training and supervision of both full-time and part-time faculty; evaluating program faculty and student performance outcomes; motivating and advising students; maintaining the program budget and generating program reports as needed. The individual that serves as a Director of the RN to BSN Completion Nursing Program will be approximately 75% administrative and approximately 25% academic who serves as a liaison with the administration of the university. This endeavor demands dedication to successfully maintain a quality nursing program. The Director of the RN to BSN Completion Degree programs will report to the HSU Nursing Department Chair or other supervisor assigned.

Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses in a variety of settings: classroom, clinical laboratory, online, and enhanced online courses. Additional duties include academic advising, professional scholarship and departmental and university service. The Department’s RN to BSN Completion Program includes: Online RN to BSN track, Partial online/partial face to face RN to BSN track, and a Dual Degree RN to BSN track with a local community college.
