Director of Intramural Sports and Outdoor Recreation

JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time 12-month position that reports to the Director of Campus Recreation.  As a member of the professional staff of the Division of Student Affairs, the Director of Intramural Sports & Outdoor Programming will develop and administer a comprehensive intramural/outdoor program for a diverse campus community.  The position also assists in the operations of the Dunn Student Recreation Center. The Director of Intramural Sports & Outdoor Programming will work evenings and occasional weekends.

In pursuit of this commitment, successful candidates will have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Health, Physical Education or a related field and have 3 years of experience in the related field. A  Master’s degree is preferred in Recreation, Health, Physical Education or appropriate field experience in the following areas is required: experience with development of student organizations, ability to work collaboratively with the members, officers, and advisors, experience with Sports Clubs, equipment, special events, budgeting and familiarity with sports specific software.  Intramural Sports experience, Challenge Course experience and strong hiking/navigational skills are highly desirable.  Successful candidates will have life guard certification, First Aid and AED instructor certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first three months of employment. ARC CPR certification is required.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
