Job Description:  The HSU ASBTDC is a university-based economic development program serving new and seasoned entrepreneurs in 10 counties in South Arkansas. The Business Consultant is responsible for providing small business consulting services to entrepreneurs with an emphasis on financial analysis, assisting with financial projections, business planning and preparing business owners for capital acquisition in order to achieve the performance measures and economic impact goals of the ASBTDC.  Other duties and responsibilities will include instructing small business training events and assisting with curriculum development, assisting with the implementation of the ASBTDC marketing plan, conduct outreach within the business community and work with small business lenders to generate consulting referrals and impact goals, and work with faculty and students to facilitate student experiential learning. This is a full-time, grant-funded position.

In pursuit of this commitment, candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree with significant course work in business including finance and accounting as well as direct experience with financial statement analysis. Excellent writing, public speaking and interpersonal skills.  Ability to conduct and deliver training in a classroom setting. Ability to conduct outreach to generate referrals. Preferred education and/or experience is a Master's degree in business, accounting, or related field. Three or more years direct experience with conducting financial analyses, loan proposal preparation and developing financial projections outside of the classroom.

Salary:   $42,000 - $45,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience
