POSITION:  Assistant Professor of Counselor Education, 9-Month, Tenure Track Position, available January, 2017.

DESCRIPTION:  The successful candidate will teach courses offered in the Department of Counselor Education. Teaching load will include Marriage & Family Therapy classes, Play Therapy, and related areas. Responsibilities will include teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online graduate courses as well as supervision of clinical field experiences. Research leading to publications and presentations at academic conferences is expected. The faculty workload consists of the teaching equivalent of nine graduate credit hours per semester. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, academic advising, research & scholarship, university service, collaboration, accreditation related activities, promotion of the program and the university, and other duties as assigned by the Chair of Counselor Education.

Strong interpersonal skills, online education experience, excellent organizational and communication skills are expected.

SALARY:  Salary commensurate with experience.

THE DEPARTMENT:  The Department of Counselor Education is accredited by CACREP and offers the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the M.S.E. in School Counseling. The department is also home to the Institute for Play Therapy, Arkansas’ first Approved Center for Play Therapy Education.
