POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Teachers College, Henderson
Department of Advanced Instructional Studies and Educational Leadership

Position:  Assistant/Associate Professor Educational Leadership, nine-month tenure-track position beginning August 2017.

Description:  The successful applicant will teach synchronous online courses offered as part of nationally accredited programs in educational leadership. The teaching load will include at least three graduate courses in finance, facilities, research, internship, or related areas. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, academic advising, research, assisting with exit portfolios, university service, collaboration, scholarship, and other duties as assigned by the Chair of Advanced Instructional Studies and as required by the Educational Leadership program.

Qualifications:  The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate in Educational Administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution. A strong record of public school administrative experience at the building and district levels is required. Applicants should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Arkansas public school finance, facilities management, educational research methods, national and state laws concerning educational issues, and the specific role and duties of a school district superintendent. Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills are expected along with a commitment to the use of technology and online instruction using synchronous technologies. The ability to plan and deliver effective online instruction and work effectively as an advisor is anticipated. The applicant will be expected to gain knowledge and experience in accreditation.

Salary:  Salary commensurate with experience.

The University:  Henderson is located in Arkadelphia, AR, a charming, family-centered community of 11,000 residents situated one hour south of Little Rock. The Program:  Educational Leadership offers programs of study leading to degrees and licensure for district leadership, curriculum leadership, building leadership, technology leadership, instructional facilitator, and curriculum program administrator. The program offers two educational specialist degrees (Ed.S.), two masters degrees (MSE), and several graduate certificates.
