Job Description:  Assistant Professor of Counselor Education, 9-Month, tenure-track position, available August 2018.  Primary teaching responsibilities include face-to-face, hybrid, and online graduate courses in research, assessment, play therapy, internship and related counseling areas.  Supervision of clinical field experiences and research leading to publications and presentations at academic conferences is expected. The faculty workload consists of the teaching equivalent of nine graduate credit hours per semester.  Additional duties include academic advising, research and scholarship, university service, collaboration, accreditation related activities, promotion of the program and the university, and other duties as assigned by the department chair.

Strong interpersonal skills, online education experience, excellent organizational and communication skills are expected.

Salary:        Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Department: The Department of Counselor Education is accredited by CACREP and offers the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the M.S.E. in School Counseling. The department is also home to the Institute for Play Therapy, Arkansas’ first Approved Center for Play Therapy Education.
