Since Arkadelphia is home to two universities, there is always something going on. Arkadelphians enjoy cultural activities, performances and athletic games on both campuses. This competition, known as the Battle of the Ravine, is one of the longest standing university rivalries ever, going on 85 years.  Henderson's Student Recreation Center has indoor basketball courts, an indoor walking track and a multipurpose room that is home to events all year.

The town has numerous dining options that include everything from seafood and Mexican to Italian cuisine and southern BBQ, and a variety of shopping options to meet everyday and special occasion needs. Options for visitors' lodging include Captain Henderson House, Henderson's outstanding bed and breakfast, as well as other inns and hotels.
