Sturgis Hall

Members of Henderson’s Honors College have to option of living in this themed community. Sturgis Hall is a three-story residence hall, housing approximately 74 students. The first floor of this facility provides classroom, study, meeting room, recreation and office space for the Honors College. If you are interested in living in Sturgis Hall, you must be an active member of the Honors College. This building offers co-ed suite style living with a living room, semi-private restrooms, a game room, reception area and multiple laundry rooms. If you are looking for social opportunities in the building, there are many opportunities to get to know other students by attending the numerous RA programs or hall council events. Some of these fun events include: holiday parties, coffee houses, canned-food drives and game nights.

Your new home

When you arrive you will find that your room is furnished with twin beds, a walk-in wardrobe closet, two dressers, a bookshelf, two desks, desk chairs, window blind, cable TV connection, local phone service (upon request) and a data port for Internet connection. You will also find carpeted bedrooms and living rooms with laminate flooring. Depending on your style, you and your roommate will have the option of bunking your beds or moving around the desks and dressers to make room for any extra furniture you may want to bring.

The staff

There are four university staff members that live in Sturgis Hall. Each floor has two resident assistants (RAs), that are specially selected and trained students with the experience and knowledge to help you get acclimated to the hall and university life. Additionally there is an Area Coordinator assigned to Sturgis Hall to provide you with any extra help you may need and handle the day-to-day management of the building.
