Health and Physical Education

Our degree is ideal for those who want to teach the importance of physical education, wellness and leisure to students in preschool through grade 12.

There are a variety of opportunities to have a fulfilling career teaching children, adolescents and young adults how to take care of their bodies, the importance of lifelong fitness and the confidence that goes along with being physically fit. We will give you the skills and techniques you need to teach your students how to appreciate their bodies and understand the significance of physical activity. This degree also offers a coaching endorsement. This endorsement of seven hours will allow you to coach all levels.

Professors also encourage students to choose a second teaching field to enhance their marketability in their professional career.

Our faculty members have coached and taught at various levels. Our facilities are state-of-the-art and we are continuing to improve as technology advances without skipping the basics. The Henderson State University coaching staff are also part of the HPER/AT instructional staff.
