Middle School Education (BSE)
Middle childhood is an exciting growth period for children. If you want to be a part of this enlightening time, majoring in middle level education is the right choice for you. This program is designed to prepare you to work with students in fourth through eighth grades. You can specialize in the two subjects that interest you the most: math, science, language arts, or social studies.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Henderson State University has begun a STE[A]M intiative to integrate the arts into the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The goal of this initiative is to provide experiences for our teacher candidates in teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Full integration of these subject areas through project-based learning allows our teacher candidates to see and experience a model of education that is student-centered, creative, collabortive, critically minded, and experiential.
